For Owners
If you have hired an architect or designer, we will design, engineer and build a timber frame based on their plans and specifications. We are able to provide the best service when we have a seat at the table early in the design and planning process.
If you have not yet selected an architect or designer, let's meet to discuss your project. We will recommend the design professional we believe would be the best fit. Depending on your location, we may also be able to recommend a builder we have worked with in the past.
For Architects
Whether you need a sounding board for your own ideas or assistance with a structural timber frame design concept, you can draw from our experience designing and building timber frames in a wide range of styles and for a wide range of uses. Our ability to provide cost information very early in the process will help you keep the project moving forward without costly revisions down the road.
For General Contractors
From heavy timber roof systems for church projects to timber framed great rooms for residential projects we design, engineer, build and install structural heavy timber in all styles and for all sizes of projects. We have a proven track record for performing excellent work on time and on budget. We particularly enjoy working on challenging projects - whether the challenge is the material, the design, the site, or all of the above.
Restoration and Conservation
We offer a full range of restoration and conservation services for projects involving historic timber buildings. We will perform a condition assessment of a historic structure, design and engineer repairs to damaged structural timbers, stabilize compromised timber buildings, and perform any type of repair to structural heavy timber. Our knowledge of traditional American and European carpentry systems enables us to build authentic historic reproductions and to properly repair and restore existing historic structures using traditional materials and methods. Reclaimed Buildings
Many great historic buildings are disappearing forever either through neglect or because the land they are located on is considered more valuable without the structure. We believe these unwanted old buildings are a valuable part of our architectural heritage and should be saved if at all possible. That's why we survey, tag, dismantle and re-erect endangered historic timber buildings for restoration or adaptive reuse on another site. If you have or know of an old barn, log building or timber framed house that is threatened, drop us a note or give us a call.
If you're interested in converting a historic structure into a house, barn, guest house, or other space, we would like to discuss your project with you. We may already have the right structure in inventory or we can likely find it through our network of restoration and salvage professionals. Browse our currently available buildings.
Reclaimed Building Materials
We have a large inventory of reclaimed timbers and lumber either available as-is or remanufactured into finished products such as flooring, paneling, and custom millwork. We build stair parts, doors, furniture, cabinetry, and all types of architectural millwork using wood that has been reclaimed primarily from 19th and early 20th century industrial buildings.
