PCB Control Building

This timber framed portico serves as the entry to a public restroom facility and municipal water system control building in Panama City Beach, Florida.

The timbers are all cypress and the trusses span approximately 22 feet. Because of the buildings proximity to the Gulf Coast, the design wind load is 130 miles per hour. This makes for some interesting connection details in order to build an open timber structure capable of withstanding tremendous uplift forces and wind loading.
