Cypress Porte Cochere

Holder Bros. fabricated and installed this timber framed roof system for a porte cochere.

The roof is cruciform in plan with four gables, one of which joins the main structure of the home. The roof is supported by stuccoed masonry walls.

The timber species is cypress, the decking species is cypress, and the surfaces are planed on four sides.

Although the purpose of this structure is to shelter a vehicle, commonly overheard remarks on the jobsite compared it to a small chapel.
