Holder Brothers Timber Frames was recently awarded the contract to repair a historic hand-hewn log cabin believed to date from the 18th century, located at Sesquicentennial State Park in Columbia South Carolina. The cabin is thought to be the oldest home in Richland County.

The work, which is scheduled to take place later this winter, involves replacing several of the cabin's wall logs which are severely rotten with newly hand hewn yellow pine logs. All of the carpentry work is to be carried out using period appropriate tools. This will be Holder Brothers Timber Frames' second project for the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
