Faculty at The American College of the Building Arts in Charleston, South Carolina recently invited Whit Holder to teach the second-year timber framing students for one week. Whit worked directly with the students teaching them the English scribe method of timber framing.

"Experiential week," as the college calls it, occurs each semester and allows students to learn directly from an expert professional in the trade that they study.
The students, who will graduate in 2009, will be the first class in America to graduate with a four-year bachelor's degree in timber framing.
